While temperature limits have long since restricted the choice of insulation on Thermocouple wires, Pelican Wire has pioneered a new ‘P300’ line of thermocouple products with increased temperature tolerances. Initially developed for the oil & gas sector, this insulating technology provides all the benefits of an extruded insulator, while handling continuous use temperatures of 300 C.

Invited guests are asked to arrive at 11:30 for Plant tours and lunch will be served starting at 12:30 until 3:00, to accommodate our 2:00 shift change. We will take a few minutes at 1:30 for the Awards Presentation and comments from Ted Bill, President of Pelican Wire.
Pelican Wire was named Manufacturer of the Year in the Small Business category at the 2018 Manufacturers Association of Florida ‘MAF Exchange’ conference and awards banquet. This year’s event was hosted at the Vinoy Renaissance in St. Petersburg, Florida from September 19-21, Pelican Wire was selected from over fifty nominees spanning numerous industries and cities throughout the State of Florida.

Pelican Wire has completed the purchase of a portion of the SERV-RITE insulated Thermocouple manufacturing business from Watlow Electric.
The agreement, which includes machinery, design & manufacturing process information and customer account data, specifically effects the High Temperature Ceramic & Vitreous Silica constructions.

As quoted from the August 31, 2018 ‘End of Life’ (EOL) statement, “Pelican Wire will begin quoting and accepting orders on new and existing wire designs on September 17, 2018 and will begin manufacturing operations on or before October 15, 2018.” Since Pelican Wire already produces these wire constructions, Watlow customers can expect a seamless transition and continued access to a talented and experienced team of Design and Production Engineers on every project. Current Pelican Wire customers may benefit from the additional capacity, both at our Naples, Florida location and with our sister company, Rubadue Wire, in Loveland, Colorado.
Naples, FL, February 23, 2018: Effective Thursday, February 8, 2018, Pelican Wire was certified under ISO 9001:2015 standards by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The Naples, Florida-based company had previously earned certification under ISO 9001:2008 in 2010 and has been audited and registered since that time by DQS Inc.
ISO 9001 is the international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system (QMS). Organizations apply the standard to demonstrate their ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. It is the most popular standard in the ISO 9000 series and the only standard in the series to which organizations can certify.

Pelican Wire began the internal process of re-certification in March 2017, by comparing existing procedures against the new requirements. Since Pelican Wire was already certified under the 2008 standards of performance, only minor adjustments were required to the processes in place to meet the new standards.
